It started in 1977.

It all begins with an idea. Electrical Systems and Services was founded in 1977 in Racine, Wisconsin. As business continued to grow, the company quickly outgrew their humble office in Racine. In 2000 Jay Datt opened a new 13,000 SQFT state of the art headquarters in Sturtevant, just a few miles from the original location.

Many industries call Racine home, including SC Johnson & Son cleaning and Chemical products, InSinkErator as well as Twin Disc. It’s only natural that ESS got its start working for many of these industrial clients, and to this day continue those relationships.

Today, ESS is Certified Minority-owned business enterprise. ESS self-performs electrical design, engineering and installation and serves Industrial, Municipal, Institutional and Commercial Customers in Southeast Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

Presented with the 2005 Entrepreneurial Excellence Award from the governor of Wisconsin for our with Medium Voltage projects in customer-owned substations along with renewable projects including wind and solar.
